Meredith Church Pipes


Meredith Church Pipes serves as the director of global engagement and the director of the international business major for the Walker College of Business. For over twenty years, Ms. Pipes has worked in international education in a variety of roles, bringing extensive expertise in global program management, student development, and curriculum design. 

She has organized and managed numerous immersive study abroad programs in locations around the globe, such as Costa Rica, France, Cuba, Mexico and Malawi, and has served as co-leader on programs to Turkey, Brazil and Azerbaijan(COP 29). Her program management experience also includes heading international volunteer outreach initiatives, such as the World Camp for Kids HIV prevention program in Honduras and serving as advisor for Appstate international alternative service learning programs in Belize and the Dominican Republic. 

In addition to developing experiential business study abroad program curricula, Ms. Pipes has designed and taught on-campus courses in the fields of sustainable business, Latin American studies and Spanish and serves as an occasional adjunct lecturer in human geography. 

Ms. Pipes served as the global and civic engagement specialist for the Walker College of Business for fifteen years, in which capacity, among other duties, she assisted in the oversight of the international business major.

Meredith completed her master’s in Latin American Studies at the University of Kansas and holds a BA in Spanish from Appalachian State University. She is a Boone native who loves living off a dirt road with her husband and two daughters and enjoys all of the outdoor fun that the mountains provide.
