Dr. Mike Evans has a regional reputation as a heritage tourism researcher and national reputation as a hospitality educator and has published in every leading hospitality management journal and several tourism journals. He has consulted for the Biltmore Company, the Pinehurst Resort, HandMade in America, the NC Arts Council, the Southern Highland Attraction Association, the Blue Ridge National Heritage Area, the J.C. Campbell Folk School, the North Carolina and Virginia Divisions of Tourism, plus several attractions, resort communities, and travel organizations.

He has being active in International CHRIE and South East CHRIE. Mike enjoys good food, beer and wines and fine dining, the arts and visiting museums, and finally lots of travel. He has traveled extensively in the United States, Europe, Mexico, and the Caribbean.
